Florence’s Dad and Grandad brought their Lambs into the nursery. The children absolutely loved feeding them and giving them a cuddle. What a wonderful experience for them all.
Our preschool children enjoyed a trip to the library in small groups. They had a wonderful time exploring books and finding out how a library works. All the children came back to nursery with a story book they had chosen. Thank you so much to the library for making us so welcome.
The children have been following the theme ‘people who help us’. As part of this, Gnosall fire service came to visit with their fire engine. The children were invited to celebrate harvest festival with Reverend Kathryn at St Lawrence’s church. She read the story of Noah’s ark, which the children loved, followed by arts and crafts and refreshments.
The children had great fun going on a bear hunt! We recreated the weather on the bear foot walk to give the children a wonderful sensory experience.
In the 2 to 3’s room we have been out collecting twigs, leaves and foliage to try and encourage bugs and insects to come to nursery! We used our magnifying glasses to look at ladybirds and wood lice!
Book of the week ‘Sharing a shell’! The children went for a walk the church yard to collect a variety of leaves and shrubs. They then made their own snail out of pasta, play dough and leaves. They will be bringing their pet snail home this week!
We had lot’s of fun celebrating world book day! The children, staff and some of our parents dressed as their favourite book character. Our children enjoyed celebrating Chinese new year with lot’s of fun activities. Our babies made a pig to symbolise the ‘year of the pig’. The preschool children made a Chinese dragon and toddlers made fun ‘pig’ masks.
As part of our drive to promote British values, we had a visit by Inspector Ian Gould. He talked to our preschool children about why rules matter and ‘stranger danger’. The children loved it and were really engaged.
