Thank you to everyone that came to our nursery garden party to celebrate 25 years of St Lawrence’s Day Nursery and Pre-school. It was lovely to see so many families from past and present coming together to join in with the celebrations.  

Coffee Morning

For both nurseries the parents and children attended our Coffee Morning, where we enjoyed meeting new and existing parents.

Our trip to the Local Care Home

The children have enjoyed being out in the community this morning, where the children have taken part in Arts & Crafts with the residents at Gingercroft rest. It was such a great experience for the children to engage and explore a different environment in our community.

Autumn Fun!

This month we have been talking about Autumn. The children have enjoyed taking part in nature walks around the church yard where they have collected leaves, twigs, cones and conkers. They have been sorting and matching, leaf printing, talking about autumn colours, learning about animals that hibernate and celebrated Harvest festival and Halloween.

From Caterpillars to Butterflies

Our Pre-school children have been learning about the life cycle of a Butterfly! They have observed the growth and changes as the Caterpillars have developed to Butterflies. It has been a lovely experience for them all to watch.

A Farmers Wedding!

All the children enjoyed watching a wedding this summer! The children was able to see the Bride and Groom leave the church, hear the wedding bells ring and drive away in the tractor. This was a fantastic experience for the children.

Clover came for Tea

In the Easter holidays we have enjoyed going on a Easter Egg Hunt around the Church yard, finding all the treats the Easter Bunny has left. We have also made some yummy cakes to take home!

When Clover came to visit

The children had great fun going on a bear hunt! We recreated the weather on the bear foot walk to give the children a wonderful sensory experience.

Bugs and insects week!

In the 2 to 3’s room we have been out collecting twigs, leaves and foliage to try and encourage bugs and insects to come to nursery! We used our magnifying glasses to look at ladybirds and wood lice!

Celebrating Chinese New Year

Our children enjoyed celebrating Chinese new year with lot’s of fun activities. Our babies made a pig to symbolise the ‘year of the pig’. The preschool children made a Chinese dragon and toddlers made fun ‘pig’ masks.

Visit by a policeman

As part of our drive to promote British values, we had a visit by Inspector Ian Gould. He talked to our preschool children about why rules matter and ‘stranger danger’. The children loved it and were really engaged.
