As a mother of three children myself, I fully understand the importance of confidence and trust that is needed when thinking about placing your child in the care of other people.
I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1991 at the Princess Christian College in Manchester, where I gained my N.N.E.B certificate in childcare. Since qualifying, I have had a wide range of childcare experiences ranging from nannying, maternity nursing and nursery management.
After gaining 8 years of valuable experience in childcare, I decided the time was right to open my own nursery, and in April 1999 I proudly opened the doors to St Lawrence’s Day Nursery.
In 2021 I took over Rosebuds Private Day nursery in the village. This is a smaller, 20 place nursery that offers the same high standard of childcare as St Lawrences Nursery. I manage both settings full time along with the support of 2 assistant managers.
I know how important it is to maintain a good team of nursery nurses, and we pride ourselves at both nurseries on having a very low staff turn over, with some staff still working for me from when the nursery first opened in 1999. All staff employed within the nursery hold a recognised childcare qualification, enhanced DBS check and Paediatric first aid qualifications. When recruiting staff, they are carefully selected not solely on their professional qualifications, but on their dedication, enthusiasm, and ability to lovingly care for the children. Staff are responsible for providing a stimulating and fun environment as well as catering for the individual needs of each child at every stage of development.
Our aim at both settings is to provide your child with the best possible start in life by providing the highest standard of childcare and education.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our nursery.
